Backfire G2T Flexible Deck and Soft Design

The Backfire G2T longboard is made from durable materials that help make it long-lasting and sturdy.

This model is made from multiple layers (eight (8)) of maple wood, giving it a smooth, strong, and durable design.

Flexible Maple Wood deck design

This board has a positive, slightly curved (camber) so that it can better handle impact while skating.

This curved design also helps the rider feel more support for their feet while riding for a long time.

But what makes this electric longboard special?

It has been built for stability at high speed (I’m taking almost 40 km/h), thanks to the low center of gravity that provides better maneuverability.

96 and 83 mm Wheels

The G2T electric longboard comes with two (2) wheel sizes choices and is compatible with the included dual hub motors.

83 mm wheels

The 83 mm wheels were designed to give more control while drifting or sliding. This is something that only experience skaters can do, so don’t try it if you are learning.

Based on the manufacturer’s specifications, their diameter provides good torque and faster acceleration.

From my perspective, this is the go-for-wheel size if the topography includes a lot of hills.

96 mm wheels

The other wheel diameter is 96mm. This version is suitable for rough terrains so that it will improve the ride.

Lastly, both wheel sizes come with an internal metal ring to reduce the impact transmitted to you and the motors.

This is a good feature, which I believe is a positive aspect of the protection of the hub motors too.

Dual Strong Motors

The Backfire G2T is equipped with specially designed, in-hub motors compatible with both available sizes of wheels.

These motors are designed to give your board a low center of gravity, allowing even better speeds.

These motors and wheels can be independently replaced, which means that you can change them without having to replace the motors.

Rear dual 350w each hub motor

Regarding the speed, the motor can give from 20 km/h (in Eco mode) to 40 km/h (in Turbo mode).

This is good if you are into speed or just learning to ride.

The flip side would be the battery consumption; you don’t want it drained too fast, right?

If you are not ready for an e-board that delivers speed, then try the Atom B10 Electric Skateboard.

Battery Samsung 30Q

This e-board comes with a built-in Battery Management System, or BMS, that allows you to hard brake even when the battery is fully charged without the issue of reverse currents from the motors.

With a full charge, you can travel 25 km or 15 miles. This range is based on a total carrying weight of 75 kg and an almost flat road.

This battery system uses Samsung 30Q cells and has a total capacity of 6.0AH.

Last but not least, it gives an output of a 30A current that allows the motors to have a steady current for better energy stability.

Braking Performance and 50 Degree Front Truck

The G2T Backfire has a Caliber II 50-degree front truck that gives the rider a more stable ride and offers excellent braking performance with little force needed.

The rear truck is not a Caliber II, though. Despite that, it has been specially built for durability so that you don’t have to worry about breaking it when used, even on challenging terrains.

The braking performance will also depend on how fast you are riding.

So, at 20 km/h (lowest speed), you will get to a full stop at around 12 m. Traveling at full speed, you will need roughly 35 m distance. Keep this in mind to stay safe.

OLED Display Remote Control

The Backfire electric longboard comes with a R2 wireless remote with many different features and functions.

The remote has an OLED display that clearly reads settings and modes.

This remote has a fixed-speed road cruise and three (3) different modes: eco, sport, and turbo.

As well as speed and range unit settings for miles or kilometers, the remote also comes with the ability to fully control the new turbo mode with the use of one button.

The turbo mode gives you 20% more power and acceleration with just the press of a button.

The only bad news is that it will last for 30 seconds until it begins to cool down.

This mode is great for helping you ride up steeper hills that require more power and for taking off strong with a high speed to get you where you need to go.

Backfire G2T Review Wrap Up

Overall, this Backfire model seems to have many great features and specifications, making it a good option for any kind of rider.

From the in-hub motors, the ability to change the wheels and motors separately, and the innovative technology for the R2 remote, the G2T comes with a lot for the purchase price.

Even with a few cons that come with this model, it is pretty clear that the pros outweigh them.

With all its features, it gives reasonable satisfaction to a few customers. However, with any product, there are some bad things that come with the good ones.

So, is this electric longboard model worth the premium price point? I believe it would be a good investment.

The flaws that come with the Backfire G2T e-board are minor and are not much to deal with, so many customers will still be very satisfied with their purchase.

What we like

  • ✅ Independently replace motor and wheels allowing you to change them without much hassle.
  • ✅ Two (2) choices of wheel sizes to suit your skating needs and compatible with the in-hub motors.
  • ✅ R2 remote that comes with OLED display and a turbo mode button for added acceleration.

What we do not like

  • The turbo mode only last 30 seconds and will take time to recharge.
  • The front flash light is great but the location is not ideal.
  • The deck's rear end is not as wide as the front end, so your foot may not fit comfortably.
